Sometimes it’s interesting to see how quickly students move back and forth between “pretending to be adults” and actually “being kids.” I think this note between two girls sums it up pretty well:
Girl 1: She knows how to fight and shes like just be like bitch herpiyes are cold sores and your abott to get one then punch her it that doesnt help my sister will kick her ass. HaHa my best friend
Girl 2:Thatz
Girl 1: I dnt like being mean Sometimes but I have no cold sores
Girl 2: oh thatz ok & dont even let it bother y.
Girl 1: I hate rumors
Girl 2: Me 2
Girl 1: LOL Grrr… awe… I ♥ Brian
Girl 2: LOL, well have u ksd him?
Girl 1: no not yet I dont think he wants to kiss me
Girl 2: well, maby 2 day will be the day?
Girl 1: I hope not! Teehee
Girl 2: Why? dont ya want hm 2?

I wish my kids wrote notes more often. OK, no I don’t. But they’re so fun to read!
You could edit the opening statement in so many different ways. Maybe I should use this note as a teaching tool. :)
Ha ha. That would be awesome. Type it up and put it on an overhead and have the kids edit it.
